History
The building went up in 1874 as a public hall, ran as a roller skating rink from 1900 to 1912 and as a cinema from 1912 to 1939, and was converted to a theatre that Prince Edward opened in 1991. It is named after Charles Cryer, who led the campaign to open the Secombe Theatre in Sutton. Cryer Arts Ltd took a 25-year lease in October 2018 and the venue reopened in November 2019.
