History
The Grade II listing was made on 1 March 1974 as list entry 1065645, under the list entry name "Honeywood Museum" and the statutory address "Honeywood Museum, Honeywood Walk, Carshalton, SM5 3NX". Behind a nineteenth- and early twentieth-century front stands a seventeenth-century flint and chalk chequer building; the operator's own history dates the core to about 1680 and records that a stream flows beneath the house. The museum reopened in May 2012 after a refurbishment that the Heritage Lottery Fund, Sutton Council and Sutton Arts Council joined together to finance from 2010. Two adjoining structures carry their own entries and are not the museum: the culvert in front of the museum, Grade II, NHLE 1065646, and the south boundary wall and gateways, Grade II, NHLE 1357616. Carshalton station is 396 m away.
