Chiesa di Santa Maria della Pace ai Parioli

Historic site · Pinciano, Italy

The prelatic church of Opus Dei, on viale Bruno Buozzi. Its name says Parioli and its own article says the quartiere Pinciano. The remains of the founder, St Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer, who lived from 1902 to 1975, are in the altar. The font is the one in which he was baptised in 1902, given to the church by the diocese of Barbastro. In the crypt are Blessed Alvaro del Portillo, bishop and first successor, 1914 to 1994, Javier Echevarria Rodriguez, 1932 to 2016, and Dora del Hoyo, 1914 to 2004; in the sub-crypt is Carmen Escriva, the founder's sister. OpenStreetMap gives the street number as 75; no other source consulted carries one, so the number is reported as an aggregator's figure rather than stated here.

History

No source gives a construction date or an architect for the church, and none is given here.
