Chiesa evangelica metodista in Castro Pretorio
Historic site · Castro Pretorio, Italy
The Methodist church of Rome, at the corner of Via XX Settembre and Via Firenze, consecrated in 1895.
History
Turismo Roma gives the address as Via XX Settembre 123; the church stands at the corner of Via Firenze. Italian Wikipedia says it was built between 1893 and 1895 and consecrated on 20 September 1895, on ground cleared by the master plan of 1881 and on the site of the demolished church of San Caio. The rione article's own list of vanished churches independently names San Caio, Santa Teresa alle Quattro Fontane and the Santissima Incarnazione del Verbo Divino, which is the same clearance seen from the other side. No coordinate is published here: Turismo Roma gives the identical point for this church and for Palazzo Esercito, so at most one of the two can be right.
