Grant Avenue

Grant Avenue runs north through Chinatown as 都板街, Du Pon Gai. It was called Dupont Street until the rebuilding that followed 1906, when it was renamed for President Ulysses S. Grant. Between Sutter and Geary two blocks were converted to two-way running in 2012 while Stockton Street was closed for Central Subway construction.
History
SF Planning's parcel records date the street frontage to the rebuilding: 700-720 Grant Avenue to 1906, 715-717 to 1907, 733-741 to 1906, 824-843 to 1908, 900-916 to 1908, 942-951 to 1907 and 1019-1029 to 1924.
