Stockton Street

Attraction · Chinatown, California

Stockton Street is Chinatown's produce and fish market street, lined with three- and four-storey buildings with shops at street level and flats above.

History

SF Planning dates the street's buildings to the same rebuilding as Grant Avenue: 1000-1032 Stockton Street to 1907, 901-907 to 1907, 843 to 1908, 1009-1011 to 1910, 830-848 to 1915 and 1040-1044 to 1920. The Chinatown-Rose Pak station of the Central Subway runs beneath the street at Washington Street, and the Stockton Street Tunnel carries the roadway under the hill between Sacramento Street and Bush Street.
