A three-masted bald-headed lumber schooner of 1895, part of San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. The ships of San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park are berthed at the Mare Island Coal Sheds in Vallejo while Hyde Street Pier is rebuilt.
History
She was built in 1895 by Hans D. Bendixsen near Humboldt Bay: 219 feet in full length, 156 feet on deck, 11.38 feet depth of hold, 453 gross tons, with a 105-foot mainmast. She carried lumber from Grays Harbor to San Francisco from 1895 to 1912, with voyages to Mexico, Hawaii and Fiji; salmon out of Bristol Bay from 1912 to 1924; and cod from the Bering Sea from 1925 to 1950. From 1954 to 1957 she stood beside a road in Hood Canal as a pirate ship, and she has been a museum ship since 1963. She was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 13 November 1966, reference number 66000229, and is a National Historic Landmark.
