A side-wheel paddle steamboat of 1890, part of San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. The ships of San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park are berthed at the Mare Island Coal Sheds in Vallejo while Hyde Street Pier is rebuilt.
History
She was built in 1890 by John Dickie at Tiburon and first named Ukiah: 299.5 feet overall, 78 feet extreme width, 2,420 gross tons. She carried railway cars and passengers between Sausalito and San Francisco, was rebuilt in 1923 and renamed Eureka, and ran until 1957. California State Parks took her in 1963 and the National Park Service in 1977. She was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 24 April 1973, reference number 73000229, and is a National Historic Landmark.
