Hotel Monteleone

Hotel · New Orleans, Louisiana

A family-owned French Quarter hotel at 214 Royal Street, New Orleans, 13.91 road miles from TPC Louisiana, which its own site calls "A French Quarter Classic for a Reason" and "A family-owned landmark in the French Quarter." Its timeline dates the house to 1886, when a Sicilian cobbler named Antonio Monteleone bought the Hotel Victor at Iberville and Royal; he took it from three storeys to five in 1896 and renamed it the Commercial Hotel, with a "massive overhaul" following in 1908. It is a designated National Literary Landmark of the American Library Association and a member of Historic Hotels of America. On site are the revolving Carousel Bar & Lounge, which "started spinning in 1949 and hasn't stopped since," with live music seven nights a week; Criollo restaurant; the Acqua Bella poolside bar; a heated rooftop pool open year-round; Spa Aria; and a 24/7 fitness center. The hotel advertises percentage offers rather than nightly rates, so no room rate is published.
