Locust Point Yacht Club
Attraction · Throgs Neck, New York
A yacht club at 21 Longstreet Avenue, in Locust Point, occupying the outermost block before the bay.
History
Locust Point is bounded by Harding Avenue to the north, the Throgs Neck Bridge to the east, and Eastchester Bay. It was originally Wrights Island, after its owner Captain J. T. Wright, and then Locust Island, until the waterway separating it was filled — the same landfill that carries the Throgs Neck Bridge's northern ramp and toll plaza — turning the former island into a peninsula.
