Museo Nazionale Etrusco di Villa Giulia (ETRU)

The state museum of Etruscan and Faliscan antiquities from Lazio, southern Etruria and Umbria, in Julius III's suburban villa. Its own site gives Piazzale di Villa Giulia 9, opening Tuesday to Sunday 08.30 to 19.30 with the rooms closing at 19.00 and last entry at 18.30, and tickets at 13.00 euro full and 2.00 euro reduced, with free entry on the first Sunday of the month. The named holdings include the Sarcofago degli Sposi, a terracotta funerary monument showing a near life-size couple reclining at a banquet; the Lamine di Pyrgi; the Apollo di Veio; the remains and reconstruction of the Etruscan temple of Alatri; the Pyrgi high relief with the Seven against Thebes; the Barberini, Castellani and Pesciotti collections; the Cista Ficoroni; and the Olpe Chigi. The villa and the museum share an address, an operator and a door, and are one place.
