Piazza di Siena

Prince Marcantonio IV Borghese, who lived from 1730 to 1800, asked for a space inside the villa that would recall piazza del Campo; the villa's own monument table dates it to 1792, and it was finished after his death and given over to public entertainments. Its track of 370.30 metres hosted the Italian athletics championships of 1907, 1908 and 1909. From 1922 it became the home of an equestrian competition, international from 1926, now the Concorso ippico internazionale Piazza di Siena, which reached its ninetieth edition in 2023. In 1960 it staged the individual jumping, the individual dressage and the individual and team eventing of the XVII Olympiad, with temporary stands for 15,000 spectators. Claudio Baglioni closed his Ale-oo tour here in 1982, and Renato Zero played eight Sei Zero concerts between 29 September and 9 October 2010.
