Obelisco Sallustiano
Historic site · Campo Marzio, Italy
The obelisk in piazza della Trinità dei Monti, standing in front of the church at the top of the stair that comes up from piazza di Spagna. it.wikipedia places it in rione Campo Marzio.
History
It is named Sallustiano for the Horti Sallustiani it came from, not for rione Sallustiano, which is a different unit of the city and does not hold it. it.wikipedia records that Sixtus V's new strada Felice, today via Sistina, was framed between two obelisks, the Esquiline one and this one.
