Ocean Beach Snowy Plover Protection Area

A federal protection area defined at 36 CFR 7.97(d). It covers the shoreline and beach between Stairwell 21 and Sloat Boulevard and the tidelands and submerged lands to 1,000 feet offshore. Dogs within it must be on a leash of not more than six feet from 1 July to 15 May.
History
The Western Snowy Plover is a threatened species and rests on Ocean Beach in winter.
