Historic site · Sant'Angelo, Italy

Permanently closed. This page is kept for reference.

The deconsecrated oratory of the fishmongers' guild, adjoining Sant'Angelo in Pescheria. It is owned by the Comune di Roma and is now in commercial use, and is not open as a church.

History

The oratory was consecrated in 1689 as the oratory of the fishmongers' guild, and the words Locus orationis venditorum piscium still read above the portal. A high relief of Saint Andrew with a fish stands over the door, carved by Michel Maille with Lorenzo Ottoni.
