Palazzo Costaguti

A sixteenth-century palace on the corner of piazza Mattei and via della Reginella, running along via dei Falegnami with rear facades on piazza Costaguti. It is the seat of Universitas Mercatorum, a telematic university. No source states that its frescoed interiors can be visited.
History
The palace was built in the first half of the sixteenth century for Monsignor Costanzo Patrizi, treasurer to Paul III, on the site of the demolished church of San Leonardo de Albis. On Patrizi's death in 1578 it was sold to Ascanio and Prospero Costaguti, Genoese bankers, for 26,000 scudi, and Carlo Lambardi renovated it for them between 1597 and 1619. Roma Capitale records ceilings frescoed by Guercino, Domenichino and Lanfranco among others.
