History
The villa was built between 1936 and 1939 on the ruins of a 17th-century casale for Arturo Osio, co-founder of the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, by the engineer Cesare Pascoletti, with the park laid out by Pietro Porcinai. In the 1980s Enrico Nicoletti, of the Banda della Magliana, bought it from the Vicariate and made heavy unauthorised alterations. It was seized on 14 November 1996, definitively confiscated on 20 February 2001, and assigned to the Comune di Roma on 26 September 2001 under law 109/1996; Casa del Jazz opened in April 2005. A stele at the park gate, made with Libera, carries 683 names of victims of the mafia between 1893 and 2005.
