Ponte della Scienza Rita Levi-Montalcini

A cycle and pedestrian bridge over the Tiber, lying between the quartieri Portuense and Ostiense; its Ostiense landfall is at the Gazometro. It is 147 metres long overall, with a span of 90 metres.

History

An international competition was won in 2000 by APsT Architettura, with Gianluca Andreoletti, Maximiliano Pintore and Stefano Tonucci, and structures by Giorgio Monti and EDIN. Building began in 2008, by Maeg Costruzioni. The bridge opened briefly on 9 February 2013, opened to traffic on 29 May 2014 and was inaugurated on 8 July 2014, when the mayor named it for Rita Levi-Montalcini.
