Palazzo De Carolis
Historic site · Pigna, Italy
An eighteenth-century palace on via del Corso, and one of the Pigna buildings whose Corso address misleads: the carriageway of the Corso is a rione boundary, while the palace itself stands in Pigna.
History
The Sovrintendenza Capitolina records that after the demolition in 1724 of the painter Jacopino del Conte's house, the wall fountain known as the Fontana del Facchino was reset on the main front of Palazzo De Carolis-Simonetti, and that in 1872 to 1873 it was moved again, to via Lata, for reasons of traffic.
