The Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia's collection of musical instruments, inside the Auditorium. About 130 instruments are shown together with some fifty luthier's accessories, in a workshop that visitors can see into and where the luthiers who look after the collection work. No source states its opening hours, so none are given here.
History
The present gallery opened in February 2008. Among the named holdings are the Stradivari violin known as the Toscano, made in 1690 and one of five instruments of the so-called quintetto Mediceo made for Grand Prince Ferdinando de' Medici; a viola by David Tecchler, a German-born luthier working in Rome in the first half of the eighteenth century; and a mandolin from the private collection of Queen Margherita di Savoia, who left it to the Accademia.
