History

The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 15, 1983. A separate and much larger Prospect Heights Historic District was designated by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission and approved by the City Council on September 17, 2009, and is described as the fifth-largest historic district in New York City; how the two designations relate is not settled by the sources.
