Grand Army Plaza

A plaza on the neighborhood's traditional southern edge, designed by Olmsted and Vaux in 1867 as a grand entrance to Prospect Park. It holds the Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Arch and the Bailey Fountain.
History
The plaza began as part of an 1861 plan for Prospect Park. Originally called Prospect Park Plaza, it was renamed in 1926 for the 60th anniversary of the Grand Army of the Republic, and became a National Historic Landmark in 1975.
