Chiesa di Santa Maria del Suffragio

Historic site · Ponte, Italy

A seventeenth-century church on the northern length of via Giulia, which lies in Ponte. No source states its opening hours, so none are given here.

History

it.wikipedia records that the confraternity del Suffragio was founded in 1592 at San Biagio della Pagnotta to pray for the dead, approved by Clement VIII in 1594 and raised to an arciconfraternita by Paul V in 1620, and that from 1607 it acquired part of the site originally meant for Bramante's Palazzo dei Tribunali.
