St. Barbara's Roman Catholic Church

A Spanish Baroque Revival church completed in 1910 by the architects Helmle and Huberty, founded as a national parish for German Catholic immigrants. It is still an active Roman Catholic parish under the Diocese of Brooklyn.

History

The local brewer Leonard Eppig contributed to the parish, whose name is tied to his daughter Barbara. The congregation shifted from German to Italian to Hispanic over the twentieth century.
