Le Quattro Fontane
Historic site · Trevi, Italy
Four fountains set into the four corners of a crossroads. Roma Capitale treats them as a single work, the Complesso delle Quattro Fontane, and states no rione for it; the crossroads is shared, three corners falling in Monti and one in Trevi.
History
Three of the four corner fountains test in Monti. The fourth, the fountain identified by Roma Capitale as Diana, stands at the corner of the Barberini garden, which tests in Trevi; Roma Capitale records that it was absorbed in 1936 into the Istituto Romano dei Beni Stabili building by Vittorio Morpurgo. That 1936 building is the last radical change Roma Capitale records to the crossroads.
