Van Cortlandt Golf Course

A public golf course inside Van Cortlandt Park, operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and frequently called Vanny or Vannie. It is the oldest public golf course in the United States.
History
It opened on July 6, 1895 as a nine-hole course and was expanded to eighteen holes in 1899; the clubhouse dates to 1902. The park's own article credits Tom Bendelow, nicknamed the "Johnny Appleseed of Golf", with expanding it to 18 holes, and records a renovation in 2016. The clubhouse locker room was a filming location for the 1987 film Wall Street.
