Bioparco di Roma

The zoological garden of Rome, inside Villa Borghese. Its own site gives the public entrance as Piazzale del Giardino Zoologico 1 and the administrative address as Viale del Giardino Zoologico 20, 00197 Roma. It holds about 1,200 animals of about 150 species of mammals, reptiles and birds, over about 155,480 square metres, and recorded 552,468 visitors in 2022. For 2026 it publishes 09.30 to 17.00 from 1 January to 28 March, 09.30 to 18.00 from 29 March to 24 October and 09.30 to 17.00 from 25 October to 31 December, with a 19.00 closing on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays between 29 March and 4 October; ticket desks and last admission are an hour before closing, and the park is open every day of the year except 25 December. Tickets are 19.00 euro full and 14.00 euro reduced for children over one metre tall up to ten years old, for over-65s and for groups of fifteen or more visiting freely, and 11.00 euro for disabled visitors with recognised invalidity below 100 per cent; entry is free for children under one metre and for visitors with 100 per cent recognised invalidity plus a companion. A last-minute ticket at 9.00 euro can be bought two hours before closing, and 2026 six-month open passes are 20.00 and 16.00 euro. Its own transport directions give tram 19 to the Bioparco stop, buses 3, 52, 53, 217, 360 and 926, bus 910 stopping at the entrance only at weekends and on holidays, and metro line A to Flaminio or Spagna.
