A state-operated psychiatric hospital at 1500 Waters Place, managed by the New York State Office of Mental Health. It provides 156 adult inpatient beds, along with an 86-bed children's psychiatric center and a 188-bed residential village, on an 85-acre campus.
History
It opened in 1963 as a state mental health facility in the northeast Bronx. It is part of the Bronx Behavioral Health Campus, a 436,000-square-foot complex that opened in 2015 and 2016.
