Chiesa e Convento della Trinità dei Monti
Historic site · Campo Marzio, Italy
The church and convent at the head of the Spanish Steps, officiated also in French. Roma Capitale names it as one of the five French-speaking Catholic churches of Rome, with San Luigi dei Francesi, San Nicola dei Lorenesi, Sant'Ivo dei Bretoni and Santi Claudio e Andrea dei Borgognoni.
History
Roma Capitale dates the foundation to 1495. The convent's own site records that the domain was entrusted to the Communauté de l'Emmanuel by an accord of 25 July 2016 between the French State and the Holy See, that about twenty members of the community are in residence, and that guided visits are led by art historians licensed by the Regione Lazio. The complex also holds the Cappella di Mater Admirabilis, the Istituto Sacro Cuore and the casa per ferie San Giuseppe for pilgrims.
