The wide ramped stair from via del Teatro di Marcello up to the piazza del Campidoglio. it.wikipedia says it was designed in 1534-38 by Michelangelo for Paul III and partly modified by Giacomo Della Porta, that the Dioscuri groups were placed on the balustrade in 1583 and the Trofei di Mario in 1590, and that black basalt lion fountains stand at the foot.
