The museum states that it is free to visit and open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am, excluding Bank Holidays: Special Exhibition Galleries on Level 1 and the Riesco Gallery on Level 0 Wednesday to Saturday 10.00 to 16.30, the Atrium Gallery on Level 0 Monday to Friday 09.00 to 18.00 and Saturday 09.00 to 17.00, and the Archives Research Room by appointment on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10.00 to 13.00 and 13.30 to 16.30 and on Thursday 10.00 to 13.00.
History
The complex was first listed on 19 November 1973 and amended on 18 April 1983 under the entry name 'Municipal Buildings, comprising the clock tower, public library, and Corn Exchange, and including the area balustrade which incorporates a war memorial and a statue of Queen Victoria'; Wikidata indexes it as Croydon Town Hall. The same site holds the Croydon Archives research room, the Riesco Gallery, the David Lean Cinema and Croydon Central Library. Croydon War Memorial on the same Katharine Street frontage is separately Grade II* listed, NHLE 1268438, first listed 19 November 1973 and amended 27 July 2017, with James Burford recorded by Wikidata as its designer.
