Plymouth Church

The church founded with the abolitionist Henry Ward Beecher as its first pastor, whose basement is documented as a passage point on the Underground Railroad.
History
By the church's own account, Abraham Lincoln worshipped here and sat in pew 89, and Branch Rickey, a member of the congregation and general manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, is tied to the club's decision to sign Jackie Robinson.
