A deconsecrated oratory on the Isola Tiberina, also called Santa Maria Addolorata dei Sacconi Rossi. It was the oratory of the old Franciscan monastery north of San Bartolomeo all'Isola, dedicated to Jesus at Calvary and Our Lady of Sorrows, and a subsidiary church of the parish of Santa Maria in Portico in Campitelli. It has been deconsecrated since 1988.
History
Every All Saints' Day the Sacconi Rossi went to the point of the island facing Ponte Rotto and cast a wreath into the river in memory of the drowned whose bodies were never found. The custom is now carried on by the Fatebenefratelli and the confraternity of Santa Maria dell'Orto.
