A neoclassical villa of 1920 on via Po, the seat of the Apostolic Nunciature to Italy, a diplomatic mission standing on Italian soil. Its own article states that the building is not open to the public. The park around it covers 20,000 square metres and is enclosed by a wall running along via Po, via Salaria, largo Ponchielli, via Peri and via Caccini.
History
Clemente Busiri Vici designed it in 1920 for the industrialist and senator Isaia Levi, who named it for his daughter. Mussolini considered moving in in 1927 and declined because of the tram noise from via Po and via Salaria. Levi, a convert, left the villa to Pius XII in 1949, and John XXIII moved the nunciature's offices there ten years later, from a villa on via Nomentana now used by the Libyan embassy. Alberto Moravia set Gli indifferenti inside it and lived opposite as a child.
