Villino Astaldi

A villino on the corner of via Saverio Mercadante and via Niccolo Porpora, a rectangular main block along via Mercadante of two storeys over a semi-basement with an attic, and a smaller block behind.

History

It was built between 1920 and 1923 as the villino Rosmunda, for the daughter of the engineer Adolfo Sebastiani, on land bordering Villa Borghese subdivided after the master plan of 1909; Arnaldo Foschini designed it with Attilio Spaccarelli. A second campaign of 1955 to 1956 was by Mario Ridolfi and Volfango Frankl. The house was later associated with Maria Luisa Astaldi and with Italia Nostra.
