Teatro Adriano (Cinema Adriano)
Theater · Prati, Italy
A Politeama of 1898 on piazza Cavour, now a multiplex cinema. Its operator's information page states only that the cinema opens thirty minutes before the first show and closes thirty minutes after the last, and that opening times vary with the programme.
History
Italian Wikipedia records that it opened in 1898 as an opera house to a design by the engineer Pio Rinaldi, and that in the first half of the twentieth century it staged Ponchielli, Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, Giordano, Leoncavallo, Cagnoni and Mascagni. It was converted to a cinema after the Second World War while continuing to host live events, and was converted to a multiplex in 2000. Italian Wikipedia also reports that the Beatles played here in 1965, on their only Italian tour; that claim rests on that article alone and is repeated here as reported rather than established.
