A 1930s block on corso Duca di Genova, with a second frontage at via delle Sirene 79, built as the local seat of the Opera Nazionale Balilla. Three ranges stand in an L around a rectangular courtyard inside a perimeter wall measuring 120 by 70 metres, and a semicircular three-storey tower rises to 18.5 metres over an open ground-floor portico. A 1930s decorative panel by Oddo Aliventi survives in the meeting room. It has stood empty since the school closed in 2009.
History
Paolo Benadusi designed it and it was built between 1933 and 1936, inaugurated on 8 August 1935 in Mussolini's presence. It later held a public school, which closed in July 2009 because the building was unfit for use. The Region transferred it to Roma Capitale in 2020 and Roma Capitale to Municipio X, which plans to restore it as the seat of the X Mare group of the local police and as an office of the giudice di pace.
