Porto Turistico di Roma

Attraction · Ostia Lido, Italy

The marina immediately south of the mouth of the Tiber, with a vehicle entrance from via del Porto di Roma. The operator gives 840 berths, 100 shops and restaurants and 1400 car spaces, and a promenade of a kilometre; it.wikipedia instead gives 833 berths, 80 shops, 1200 metres of promenade, over 10,000 square metres of exhibition space, an open-air amphitheatre of 750 seats and a 400-tonne travel lift. The berths take vessels from 8 to 60 metres. The operator states that boats up to 20 metres staying at most two nights need no booking and should call the control tower on VHF channel 74, which is worked from 07.00 to 23.00; the office is open 09.00 to 13.00 and 15.00 to 19.00. The marina also holds the Mario Pastore visitor centre of the LIPU oasis and, for now, the Biblioteca Elsa Morante.

History

it.wikipedia records that the marina was designed in the 1990s as part of the regeneration of the Idroscalo area, alongside the LIPU oasis; that works began in 1998; that it was built by ATI S.p.A.; and that it cost about 120 billion lire. It opened in 2001.
