Palazzo della Zecca di Stato
Historic site · Esquilino, Italy
The State Mint building on via Principe Umberto. It still holds the Scuola dell'Arte della Medaglia. No source states public opening arrangements, so none are given here.
History
it.wikipedia's article on the rione, citing the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, gives the building as built between 1908 and 1911 to the design of the engineer Carlo Mongini and inaugurated by Victor Emmanuel III on 27 December 1911. It housed the Museo numismatico della Zecca Italiana until 1962, and coin production there ceased in 1999.
