Palazzo Milesi

Historic site · Ponte, Italy

The palace that gave via della Maschera d'Oro its name, from a sixteenth-century golden-mask fresco once at the centre of its facade, now lost.

History

it.wikipedia records a fifteenth-century origin and that the palace was built by the Milesi, a family from Bergamo: Giovanni Giuseppe Milesi moved to Rome in 1480 and had it put up in the early 1500s, possibly by joining three separate houses.
