Chiesa di San Roberto Bellarmino
Historic site · Parioli, Italy
A rationalist parish church on piazza Ungheria. Its article, citing the Diocese of Rome, places it in the quartiere Parioli, within the boundaries of the Municipio Roma II. No source states its opening hours, so none are given here.
History
Clemente Busiri Vici built it between 1931 and 1933 and it was opened for worship on 10 June 1933 and consecrated in May 1959. It is dedicated to Robert Bellarmine, canonised in 1930. Pius XI erected the parish on 13 May 1933 with the apostolic constitution Quae maiori religionis and entrusted it to the Jesuits, who were replaced by diocesan clergy in 2003; it has been a cardinalatial title since 1969. John Paul II visited on 2 March 1980.
