Terme di Traiano
Historic site · Monti, Italy
A bath complex on the Colle Oppio designed by Apollodorus of Damascus and dedicated by Trajan in 109 AD, covering over six hectares.
History
It overlies the Esquiline wing of the Domus Aurea and the Terme di Tito. Roma Capitale says the plan has been reconstructed from remains found during the creation of the Parco Traiano in the 1930s, from fragments of the Forma Urbis Severiana, and from sixteenth- and seventeenth-century drawings.
