Via dei Coronari

The straight street that runs through the middle of the rione, from piazza di Tor Sanguigna to piazza dei Coronari, about 500 metres long. Roma Capitale's street register records it, and piazza dei Coronari with it, as lying in Ponte alone. Its frontage today is antique dealers and small shops.
History
it.wikipedia records that the street is medieval in origin and was called Via Recta for its regular alignment, and that it served as a route from the Porto di Ripetta toward St Peter's. It was heavily used by pilgrims, and so by the sellers of corone - rosaries - and of holy images, who set up their shops along it and gave the street its name. From the early sixteenth century the street and its surroundings were lived in by some of the city's higher-ranking courtesans.
