Basilica di Sant'Apollinare
Historic site · Ponte, Italy
A church of ancient foundation standing against Palazzo Apollinare, which houses the Pontificia Universita della Santa Croce. No source states its opening hours, so none are given here.
History
it.wikipedia records that Pope Hadrian I founded the church around 780 on Roman remains, that it is first recorded in his life in the Liber pontificalis and again in the tenth-century chronicle of Benedetto del Soratte, and that it holds the dignity of a minor basilica.
