Via di Monte Giordano

Historic site · Ponte, Italy

The street that climbs Monte Giordano, the low rise carrying Palazzo Taverna. Roma Capitale's street register records it as lying in Ponte alone.

History

it.wikipedia records that Monte Giordano was probably formed by the accumulation of debris from the ancient river landing at Tor di Nona, that it is known from the middle of the twelfth century as a fortified holding, and that the Orsini took possession of it progressively between 1242 and 1262, giving it the name of an Orsini Giordano.
