History
Roma Capitale's toponymy register carries the square under an attribution of 8 May 1885, by Prop. al CC n. 96, with the note R. PRATI. Italian Wikipedia's article on the rione dates the market building to 1928 and describes it as a twentieth-century neighbourhood market on via Cola di Rienzo; that date comes from that article alone.
