Greenwich Foot Tunnel

The Greenwich Foot Tunnel is a free pedestrian route under the Thames, entered on the south bank through the domed building in Cutty Sark Gardens beside Cutty Sark. The council describes it as connecting Cutty Sark on the south bank of the River Thames to Island Gardens, Tower Hamlets, and states that cycling through the tunnel is not permitted. The Royal Borough of Greenwich publishes the tunnel and lift status at royalgreenwich.gov.uk and says that from July to December it will be working to replace lift parts and upgrade the fire alarm system. No source states opening hours for the tunnel, so none are given here.
History
The south entrance building is Grade II listed, NHLE 1289371, listed on 26 June 1975, at national grid reference TQ 38263 77914; Historic England names the entry ENTRANCE BUILDING TO GREENWICH FOOTWAY TUNNEL. The north entrance at Island Gardens is separately Grade II listed, NHLE 1065141. TfL measures 652 m from the south entrance building at 51.4828, -0.0096 to Island Gardens DLR station, and 758 m from Cutty Sark DLR station.
