Greenwich Park is a Royal Park of 74.51 registered hectares, NHLE 1000174, free to enter, with pedestrian gates open 6am to 8pm and vehicle gates 7am to 8pm. Blackheath Gate, St Mary's Gate and Park Row Gate are among its entrances, and the Royal Observatory stands within it on Blackheath Avenue.
History
The park was registered at Grade I on the Register of Parks and Gardens on 1 October 1987, NHLE 1000174, with a registered area of 74.51 hectares. Two scheduled monuments lie within it: a Romano-Celtic temple, NHLE 1021439, and an Anglo-Saxon cemetery, NHLE 1021440; scheduled monuments carry no grade. The registered polygon lies wholly within the core area of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site, NHLE 1000096, whose core covers 109.51 hectares and whose buffer zone covers 174.91 hectares. The boundary wall around the park is Grade II listed, NHLE 1290730, and the Standard Reservoir conduit house within it Grade II*, NHLE 1393455.
