A small painted house on piazza di Sant'Eustachio, built at the start of the sixteenth century for Tizio di Spoleto, chamberlain to Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, later Paul III. Roma Capitale states that it can be visited only from outside.
History
The painted exterior is among the first independent works of Federico Zuccari, who according to Vasari got the commission through his brother Taddeo, in whose workshop he had been training since arriving in Rome in 1550. The figures show scenes from the life of St Eustace, among them the Baptism and the Martyrdom. The arms of Pius IV Medici date the work to 1559.
